Cockroach and Asthma

Did you know that exposure to cockroach allergens can cause asthma?

Asthma is a disease that can be demanding to manage, not to mention the difficulties in identifying the many factors that may lead to trigger asthma. One of these factors is cockroach allergens.

Cockroach allergens are derived from cast skins, dead bodies and body and fecal extracts. This body and fecal extracts of cockroach most likely are the cause to disseminate cockroach allergens in the form of airborne dust.

Studies shows that cockroach allergens can cause asthma but it is also important to know that not everybody that allergic to cockroach allergens has asthma. Also, not everyone who has asthma is allergic to cockroach allergens.

It is believed that asthma is the result of hereditary as well as environmental factors. It is known that children with asthma are more likely to have at least one parent that has asthma.

To reduce the risk of aggravating asthma condition, it is best to eliminate the presence of cockroach in the house. Best way to eliminate cockroaches is by using gel baits such as Blattanex Cockroach Gel, which of course is free from the kerosene smell which is common on traditional kerosene based insecticide sprays.
